Winning your vote for our Girls Regional Runner of the Week was Olentangy Liberty junior Bridget Snider. On Day 1, Snider helped lead the Patriots’ 4x800 squad to a third-place finish, securing their spot at Jesse Owens. On Day 2, she backed it up with the best race of her career—finishing third individually to qualify for the state championships and clocking a lifetime PR of 2:15.0 in the process. It was a major accomplishment for the junior.
“I have been training hard all season for this moment—to make it to states—so I wasn’t going to let this opportunity go,” Snider said when asked about the moment and what it meant to her.
She has shown steady progression throughout the season, starting with a 2:24 and building up to a 2:17.9 at districts the week prior, before delivering her breakthrough race at regionals.
Snider and the Lady Patriots will conclude their season at an outdoor national meet, where she’ll look to improve even further on her PR. Her 2:15.0 already puts her in a strong position heading into next year’s regional and state competition—and any improvement could elevate her into early-season top-three conversations.
