About the candidates:

Celia Schulte (Hilliard Davidson)

Hilliard Davidson junior and Furman commit Celia Schulte delivered a historic season, shattering the OHSAA state record in the 800. She went undefeated in every race held in Ohio and anchored her team’s 4x800 relay to a second consecutive state championship. Schulte firmly established herself as the state’s top mid-distance runner.

Brooke Chapman (Olentangy Orange)

Olentangy Orange junior and NC State commit Brooke Chapman secured her second straight upset victory in the 1600, outkicking Daniella Scheffler to win the state title in 4:46. She also qualified for the 800 at states, though ultimately scratched the event to focus on the 1600. Chapman continues to cement her legacy as one of Ohio’s premier distance talents.

Natalie Fouts (Dublin Jerome)

Dublin Jerome junior Natalie Fouts had a stellar postseason, finishing as the regional runner-up in the 1600 and champion in the 3200. After scratching the 1600 at states to focus on the longer event, she closed out her season with a 3rd-place finish in the 3200, showing poise and strength at the highest level.

Marisa Heil (Lancaster)

Lancaster senior and Miami University commit Marisa Heil wrapped up her high school career with an exceptional postseason. She was the regional runner-up in both the 1600 and 3200, anchored the regional champion and state runner-up 4x800 team, and went on to place 4th in the 1600 and 2nd in the 3200 at the state meet. Heil leaves behind a lasting legacy of resilience and excellence.
