Buckeye Run Report
Runner of the Week
- Celia Schulte
- Brooke Chapman
- Marisa Heil
- Natalie Fouts
About the candidates:
Celia Schulte: Not only did the Davidson junior claim an individual state title in the 800m, but she also broke the state record in the process. She anchored the Wildcats’ 4x800 squad to a state title on day one as well.
Brooke Chapman: Building on last year’s incredible kick, Chapman used her signature finishing speed to win her second consecutive 1600m state title. Her time of 4:46 was just five seconds off Emily Infeld’s state record.
Marisa Heil: The only Central Ohio girl to podium in two individual events was Lancaster’s Marisa Heil. Her blistering 4:48 in the 1600m earned her fourth place, and she doubled back with a 10:24 to take runner-up in the 3200m.
Natalie Fouts: Dublin Jerome junior Natalie Fouts continued her outstanding season with a third-place finish in the 3200m, clocking a lightning-fast 10:31.
