Week of 4/17 Runner of the Week:
After a record-breaking vote, your girls’ Runner of the Week for 4/17 is Gahanna Lincoln’s Charlotte Schwemlein. She earned your vote after running a blistering 2:19.31 over 800 meters to comfortably win the New Albany Eagle Invite. Considering she is only a freshman, this performance should be just the appetizer for what could become a spectacular high school career. Congratulations, Charlotte!
Fulton Relays:
One of several relay-exclusive meets this weekend, Fulton Relays was the most competitive. The top event of the meet was unquestionably the 4x800, where three teams smashed the 10:00 barrier. Upper Arlington coasted to the win in an impressive 9:30, while Lancaster and Worthington Kilbourne rounded out the top three with strong 9:45 performances. Lancaster got the job done at their home meet with a 21:31 in the 4x1600, and Upper Arlington dominated in the DMR.
Highlander Invitational:
Several performances stood out at this invitational. Hilliard Davidson ran the top 4x800 relay time of the weekend at 9:29, reinforcing their status as a top team in the state. Hilliard Davidson’s Erica Kaulen cruised to an easy win in 5:08 in the 1600, Dublin Jerome’s Abbie McBrearty and Natalie Fouts both dipped under 2:20 in the 800, and Hilliard Davidson’s Mackenzie Kline dominated the 3200 in 11:05.
Other Notable Action:
While Olentangy Liberty’s Freedom Relays was smaller in size than in past years, notable performances included a 9:44 in the 4x800 and a 21:47 in the 4x1600 from Dublin Coffman.
