About the candidates:
Bradyn Allender - Allender made a tremendous impact, outperforming all expectations with a 4th-place regional finish, only trailing behind top contenders Charlie Guerrera, Tate Ruthers, and Mick Temple. Impressively, he placed even higher at regionals than he had at districts, showcasing his growth when it mattered most.
Gabe Wise - Wise broke through in a big way with his first sub-16 performance. After clocking 16:00-range times in his last three races, he pushed hard to finish in 15:51, placing 15th and helping secure his team’s regional title.
Gordon Kimberly - Kimberly delivered a remarkable breakout race at regionals. Previously outside our top 30 rankings, he surged with a massive personal best, dropping from 16:05 to 15:48 and finishing within the region’s top 10 individuals. His outstanding performance proved essential, as Liberty qualified by just one point.
Austin Benedict - Benedict distinguished himself as the only freshman in the region to qualify individually for states—and one of only four statewide to do so. He set the fastest time and achieved the highest placement among all freshmen qualifiers, underscoring his impressive potential.
Winner will get a post later this week!
