About the candidates:
Mick Temple: Despite being one of the best runners in the region, Temple had somehow yet to be nominated for Runner of the Week until now. This season, he fought back after an injury kept him out until mid-year, ultimately improving with each race. His efforts culminated in a 16th-place finish and Second Team All-Ohio honors.
Jeffery Kerns: Kerns capped off an incredibly strong, consistent season with a 29th-place finish and All-Ohio Honorable Mention honors at states, achieving a small personal best and helping Westerville North secure the top team placement from Central Ohio at states.
Marcus Speed: Speed had an outstanding day at states. Heading into the race, he had never broken 15:50 in the 5k, but he obliterated his personal best with a time of 15:33. This performance placed him among the top 25 finishers and earned him All-Ohio Honorable Mention honors.
Cayden McClure: While many Jerome runners faced challenges at the state meet, McClure excelled. He clocked his second-fastest time of the season, was the second-fastest runner for the Celtics, who placed 10th in the state, and finished within the top 50 overall.
