About the candidates:

1. Katy Zang - While we typically avoid repeating nominations in consecutive weeks, Teays Valley junior Katy Zang is simply too impressive to omit. She earned a commanding victory in Section 1, setting a new course record of 17:10.

   
   

2. Marisa Heil - Finishing just behind Zang in Section 1 is Lancaster senior Marisa Heil, who ran a personal best of 17:28 to earn district runner-up honors.

   
   

3. Brooke Chapman - After an upset loss at conferences last weekend, Olentangy Orange senior Brooke Chapman bounced back in a big way by winning Section 3 with a time of 17:48.

   
   

4. Sophia Tartaglia - In the absence of one of their top runners, Erica Kaulen, Hilliard Davidson sophomore Sophia Tartaglia stepped up significantly, beating her personal best by over 30 seconds to finish fifth at districts, ensuring an easy team victory for the Lady Wildcats.
