About the candidates:
Minori Hudson (Dublin Coffman)
What a difference a year can make. Dublin Coffman senior Minori Hudson didn’t compete during the 2024 outdoor season, and her indoor personal bests stood at 2:53 in the 800 and 7:07 in the 1600. Fast forward to 2025, and Hudson now boasts times of 2:15 and 4:55 — capped off with an All-Ohio finish in the 1600. Her transformation has been one of the most remarkable stories of the year.
Erica Kaulen (Hilliard Davidson)
Hilliard Davidson junior Erica Kaulen made a major leap in 2025, emerging as one of the top distance runners in the region. She lowered her personal bests to 4:57 in the 1600 and 10:44 in the 3200, proving herself as a threat in both events heading into her senior year.
Lucy Rush (Mount Vernon)
Mount Vernon junior Lucy Rush delivered big improvements across all three distance disciplines this spring. She dropped her personal bests to 2:20 in the 800, 5:03 in the 1600, and 11:11 in the 3200, becoming a key contributor to Mount Vernon’s postseason success.
Audri Barry (St. Francis DeSales)
St. Francis DeSales junior Audri Barry made a strong jump in the 800 this season, cutting over 10 seconds off her previous best. She went from 2:30 to 2:19, putting herself in the mix among the region’s top half-milers.
