Week of 4/10 Runner of the Week:
Last week’s Girls Runner of the Week was Canal Winchester freshman Quinn Klamorick, who has quickly emerged as one of Central Ohio’s most promising young talents. Despite her age, she has already produced standout marks across both the 800 and 1600 meters. At the Watkins Memorial Icebreaker Invitational, she opened her season with a 2:27 win in the 800, then followed it up with a 5:19 victory at the Berlin Invitational. Coupled with the strong potential she showed throughout the recent cross country season, Klamorick’s early success signals a bright future for one of the region’s rising stars.
Joe Lenge Dublin Classic:Â Â
The Joe Lenge Dublin Classic delivered one of the strongest girls’ distance slates of the week, with fast marks across all events. The 1600 was the highlight, featuring four athletes at 5:10 or faster. Upper Arlington’s Josie Cox claimed the win in 5:03, followed closely by Dublin Jerome’s Natalie Fouts in 5:05. Upper Arlington’s Morgan Hamilton (5:09) and Hilliard Davidson’s Mackenzie Kline (5:10) rounded out a tightly packed top group.

Six additional athletes broke 2:30: Olentangy’s Elena Wanek, Lancaster’s Amelia Fries, Dublin Coffman’s Nora Crabtree and Abigail Eiferman, and Dublin Jerome’s Ella Wynk and Ella Watson. The 3200 featured a smaller field, with Upper Arlington’s Beth Baker winning comfortably in 11:08.
Delaware Hayes Invitational:Â Â
Despite a smaller field, the Delaware Hayes Invitational produced some of the week’s most impressive marks. The meet opened with a standout 1600, as Olentangy Liberty’s Elena Aldrink and Big Walnut’s Grace Buskirk both broke the 5‑minute barrier. The 800 was one of the deepest of the week, with Big Walnut’s Lindsay Cochran winning in 2:16.
Olentangy Liberty’s Bridget Snider and Big Walnut’s Leighton Coey also dipped under 2:20. Additional sub‑2:30 performances came from Olentangy Liberty’s Katie Boettcher, Delaware Hayes’ Cali Kent, Marysville’s Lyla Channell and Cameron Cave, and Olentangy Orange’s Cat Szasz. The 3200 field was thinner, with Buskirk doubling back for a second win in 11:17 and Olentangy Berlin’s Georgia Speelman finishing runner‑up in 11:39.
New Albany Eagle Invite:

In the 1600, Gahanna Lincoln’s Ruby Lewis edged New Albany’s Kyla Benedict, 5:08 to 5:09, with Gahanna Lincoln’s Olivia Smeck close behind in 5:10. Bishop Watterson’s Gabby Smullen and Campbell Retzke each ran 5:18 to round out the top group. Gahanna Lincoln added another win in the 800, with Charlotte Schwemlein taking the title in 2:19.
