
Buckeye Run Report
1. Katy Zang– The undefeated sensation of the region, Zang’s dominance is undisputed. As the only runner under 17 minutes, she continues to set the pace for everyone else and holds her spot firmly at number one.
2. Brooke Chapman– The reigning 1600m state champion has been nothing short of spectacular this season. Chapman has not finished outside the top three in any race, and she’s poised to extend her stellar streak into the postseason.
3. Natalie Fouts– Fouts is hitting her stride at just the right time. Fresh off a 6th place finish at the Berlin Bear Dash, she impressed even more the week prior with a blazing 17:22 at the highly competitive Celtic Clash, securing 2nd place.
4. Marisa Heil– Heil made a statement by defeating our #3 runner by 40 seconds at the Berlin Bear Dash. She’s well-positioned to cruise to an OCC conference runner-up behind Zang.
5. Elena Aldrink– Aldrink has been in phenomenal form, clocking a 17:32 at the Celtic Clash Invitational. Just shy of breaking into the top two at Celtic, she’s on a mission to close the gap and challenge for the runner-up spot in the region.
6. Ceila Schulte– A potential Milesplit Runner of the Week, Schulte’s performance at the Les Eisenhart Invitational was nothing short of commanding. Leading the top girls' team in the region, she took home the victory with a stellar 17:43.
7. Erica Kaulen– The runner-up at the Eisenhart Invitational, Kaulen teams up with Schulte to form a dynamic duo at Hilliard Davidson. This pair is set to be a formidable force in the postseason.
8. Grace Heitkamp– Heitkamp may not have been at her best at the Berlin Bear Dash, but her top-five finish at the Celtic Clash and overall body of work this season keep her comfortably among the region’s elite.
9. Bella Conforti– The breakout sophomore from Olentangy Orange made waves at the Berlin Bear Dash, shattering the 18-minute barrier and placing in the top five at one of Central Ohio’s premier meets.
10. Kaitlyn Van Zandt– The lone freshman on the list, Van Zandt has put together a remarkable debut season. Her recent 18:17 performance and top-five finish at the Celtic Clash highlight her as a rising star in the region.
Honorable Mentions:
Aubrey Smith– A model of consistency throughout the season, recently clocking an impressive 18:45 at the Celtic Clash.
Lydia Price– Set a season-best 18:29 earlier at the Central Ohio meet, though she hasn't had the chance to compete on another fast course since.
Lainey Fouth– The freshman sensation has already turned heads with a blazing 18:20 and a remarkable 3rd place finish at the Eisenhart Invitational.
Helen Randolph– Rounding out the list, she boasts a swift 18:25 and secured a top-10 finish at the Celtic Clash.
