800m Pre-Track Season Rankings: Girls

(Disclaimer: These rankings are based on our projection of each individual’s main event.)
Celia Schulte - The number one spot in our rankings was an obvious choice. Schulte, a recent Furman commit and Hilliard Davidson junior is the only returning runner with a personal best under 2:10 (2:08.97). She placed third at the outdoor state meet last track season and appears poised to compete for a state title.
Emi Schroyer - Our second-ranked individual is Schulte’s teammate, Hilliard Davidson senior Emi Schroyer. Schroyer holds a personal best of 2:14.12 and finished 10th at the state meet last track season. Together, Schroyer and Schulte form the best 800-meter tandem in the state by a wide margin.
Bridget Snider - The Olentangy Liberty senior is one of only eight returning runners in the region with a personal best under 2:20, recording a PR of 2:17.72. In addition to her individual goals, Snider will be a key contributor to Olentangy Liberty’s 4x800 state title aspirations.
Gemma Pusateri - Davidson continues its mid-distance dominance in our rankings, with three of the top four runners coming from the Wildcats. Pusateri, a junior, boasts a personal best of 2:18.97.
Abbie McBreaty - The Dublin Jerome junior holds a personal best under 2:20, clocking 2:18.99 at last track season’s district meet. Barring any unforeseen changes, McBreaty will serve as the top runner for Jerome’s 4x800 squad, which also has state title aspirations.
Leighton Coey - Coey burst onto the scene in 2024, breaking 2:20 in the 800 as only a freshman at Big Walnut. After a strong cross-country season, she is expected to build on her stellar freshman campaign.
Abigail Rumschlag - Rumschlag, a senior at Hilliard Darby, is the first runner on our list without a personal best under 2:20, with her top effort being a 2:20.38 at districts last year.
Marguerite Foust - The Marysville senior holds a personal best of 2:20.78 from districts last year and will look to capitalize on her solid cross-country season as she enters her final high school track season.
Ella Watson - Watson, a junior, is another standout 800m runner from Dublin Jerome. She holds a personal best of 2:21.61 from last year’s district meet and will play an integral role in Jerome’s stellar 4x800 squad.
Erin Hogue - Similar to the previously mentioned Leighton Coey, Hogue had an outstanding freshman season last year. The Tri-Valley sophomore holds a personal best of 2:21.79 from the 2024 district meet and will be a consistent rival to Coey as the top runner from the 2028 class for years to come.
