Boys Regionals Individual Rankings

Charlie Guerrera – Guerrera made a statement in Section 3, easily claiming victory with a commanding time of 15:33. His strong, consistent performances throughout the season keep him securely at the top of our rankings. Despite little competition at Districts, Guerrera’s ability to perform under pressure and maintain pace will be key as we head into regionals.
Tate Ruthers – Ruthers put on an absolute clinic in Section 1, crossing the line in 15:17 and leaving no doubt about his fitness. His win over our third-ranked runner was decisive, as he led the race from the start. While the battle for our top spot was close, Ruthers’ second-place standing reflects his season-long strength and potential to challenge for the top position at regionals.
Mick Temple – Though Temple didn’t take the win in Section 1, he ran a commendable race, finishing just 13 seconds behind Ruthers with a time of 15:30. Temple’s performance has been consistent all season, and though Ruthers outpaced him this time, Temple remains a serious contender for a top spot at regionals. His experience and ability to close in big races could make a difference in tighter competition.
Matthew Schroff – Schroff had a bit of an off day in Section 2, finishing third instead of his usual top spot. However, his prior performances this season, including some standout times in tougher fields, keep him securely in our top four. He’ll need to bounce back with a stronger showing at regionals, but his talent and experience suggest he’s capable of doing just that.
Jacob Bolton – Bolton had a stellar race in Section 2, claiming the title with a time of 15:37 after a thrilling sprint finish. His ability to close hard in races could serve him well in the high-stakes environment of regionals. Bolton has been steadily improving throughout the season, and his section win shows he’s peaking at the right time.
Jeffery Kerns – Kerns was narrowly edged out by Bolton in a photo finish for the Section 2 title, but his runner-up finish came with a personal best of 15:37, signaling major improvement. Kerns’ rise in the rankings reflects his recent form, and if he continues this trajectory, he could be a major threat at regionals.
Charles Rizek – Rizek quietly had a strong race in Section 1, placing third behind Ruthers and Temple. While he didn’t make the headlines this week, his consistency has been remarkable, and he remains a fixture in our top ten. Rizek could surprise at regionals if he can stay close to the leaders early on.
Jacob Reash – Reash finishing behind Hilliard Davidson’s Justin Rona in Section 1, but we’re keeping him slightly higher in the rankings due to his consistent season.
Ethan Ishida – Ishida finished second in Section 3, behind only his teammate Charlie Guerrera. His time earned him a well-deserved move into our top ten. Ishida’s steady improvement throughout the season, coupled with his ability to run well in a competitive field, makes him one to watch heading into regionals.
Justin Rona – Rona finally delivered the breakout performance many were expecting, setting a new season best and upsetting several top-ranked runners in Section 1. His win over Reash and others earns him the final spot in our top ten, and if he can carry this momentum into regionals, Rona could shake up the standings further.
Owen Kockentiet – Kockentiet had a career day in Section 3, dropping 11 seconds off his personal best to finish third with a time of 15:49. His progression throughout the season has been impressive, and this latest result shows he’s peaking at the right time. Kockentiet could be a dark horse contender to break into the top ten at regionals.
Marcus Speed – Speed continued his postseason surge with a strong performance in Section 3, finishing just behind Kockentiet. His recent results suggest he’s on an upward trend, and if he can carry this momentum forward, Speed could surprise some higher-ranked runners at regionals.
Austin Benedict – The freshman standout rebounded from a disappointing conference race to finish fifth in Section 3. Benedict’s resilience and ability to learn from tough races is impressive for such a young runner. As he gains more experience, Benedict could become a key player in future competitions, but for now, he’s solidifying his place in the top tier.
McKinley Norman – Norman is another Section 3 runner who bounced back at Districts, finishing with a strong time of 15:52. After a tough week at conferences, this performance shows he’s still capable of competing at a high level. Norman’s form heading into regionals will be crucial for his team’s chances.
Bradyn Allender – Allender didn’t have his best race at Districts, but it wasn’t a complete breakdown. His season-long consistency has been a major strength, and despite this slight dip, he holds onto his spot in our rankings. If he can return to form at regionals, Allender could be a major player in the individual competition.
Mulu Ferguson – Ferguson finished seventh in Section 1, which caused him to drop a few spots in the rankings. Still, he remains a strong competitor and could rebound at regionals. His ability to grind out tough races has served him well all season.
Owen Towler – Towler slips slightly in the rankings after finishing just behind Ferguson in Section 1. While it wasn’t his best race, Towler has had some standout performances this year, and he’ll look to bounce back in time for regionals.
Vansh Sethi – Sethi put together a solid race in Section 2, finishing fourth and achieving a small personal best. His steady improvement throughout the season has earned him a spot in our top 20, and he could climb further with a strong regional showing.
Brock Jarrett – Jarrett made the most of his first run on a faster course this season, breaking the 16-minute barrier and finishing fifth in Section 2. His ability to rise to the occasion on fast courses bodes well for his regional prospects.
Louie Perry – Perry burst onto the scene in Section 1, slicing 20 seconds off his personal best to finish sixth with a time of 15:51. His rapid improvement suggests he could continue to rise in the rankings, and another strong race at regionals could vault him into the top 15.
