12/11 Girls Indoor Recap

Wittenberg:The Wittenberg Qualifier once again delivered the most significant results on the girls' side. In the 800, Tiffany Zuehlke posted the top Central Ohio time of 2:27.33. Evelyn Joseph also broke 2:30 with a time of 2:29.91. Impressively, seventh-grader Maddie Hobbs from the Pickerington North track club clocked a 2:29.26.
In the 1600, Kaylen Goss opened her season with a strong 5:17.69, the fastest time among Central Ohio competitors. She was followed by Erica Kaulen (5:20.27) and Mia Eberhardt (5:21.14). There were no standout performances in the 3200. The highlight of the meet came in the 4x800 relay, where the Lady Wildcats recorded a very impressive, state-leading time of 9:30.68.
Otterbein:The Otterbein Qualifier was quieter on the girls' side. Elena Aldrink opened her season with a 2:27.2 in the 800, while freshman Kyla Benedict ran a solid 5:30.32 in the 1600. There were no events for the 3200 or 4x800 relay at this meet.
Ohio State:The Ohio State Qualifier produced more notable results than Otterbein but didn’t quite match the high level of competition seen at Wittenberg. In the 1600, Marguerite Foust opened her season with a 5:20.87, narrowly ahead of Natalie Fouts, who ran 5:21.11. Fouts doubled back in the 800 with a 2:26.22. Similar to Otterbein, there were no standout performances in the 3200 or the 4x800 relay.
Other:One additional highlight from the week came at the Logan Qualifier on Wednesday, where Marisa Heil opened her season with a remarkable 10:33.73 in the 3200. This performance not only marked an excellent start to her season but also placed her at the top of the state rankings.
